My current research activities are oriented to the following topics:

  • Structure and Function Studies of Membrane Proteins (antimicrobial peptides, voltage and ligand activated ion channels) by means of Molecular Dynamics (MD),
  • Application of Bio-inspired Heuristic Methods (Genetic Algorithms, Ant Colony, Swarm Particle) for the prediction of the tertiary structure of proteins,
  • Generation of Knowledge-Based Potentials for the Native Protein Structure prediction,
  • Quantitative Studies Structure/Activity Relationships (QSAR) of organic molecules obtained from medicinal plants that can be developed as pharmaceuticals,
  • Determination of Energy Free of Association between drug molecules and models of molecular receptors ( Enantiodifferentiation) by means of MD.
