AspectRatio

Back to parameter list

This parameter defines the disk aspect ratio H/r at r=1. It must be used together with FlaringIndex to define it everywhere. Defining the disk thickness in a 2D code might seem surprising. It actually means that one initializes the sound speed cs(r), since this later is linked to H through:

    cs/vk = H/r,

where vk is the orbital Keplerian speed.

Note that it is possible to override the sound speed profile implied by AspectRatio and FlaringIndex by providing, in the output directory (defined by OutputDir), an ASCII file named 'soundspeed.dat' which must contain Nrad entries that sample the desired sound speed profile at the zone centers. An arbitrary sound speed profile can therefore be used.
