Cosmology is at a turning point today as we enter the era of a new generation of galaxy and cosmic microwave background surveys, providing a remarkable opportunity to address fundamental questions about our cosmological model. Some of these key questions are: what is the origin of cosmic acceleration? Is it a sign of a breaking of General Relativity on large scales? Is dark energy dynamical as indicated recently by DES and DESI data? In the first part of my talk, I will present my work over the past decade in analyzing galaxy survey data, especially from the Dark Energy Survey, to address these critical questions. In the second part, I will highlight the challenges encountered in this work that we must overcome in the coming decade, and will talk about the status and plans for challenging our cosmological model with the Rubin Observatory.
