Phenomenology with string theory

Phenomenology with string theory

String theory offers a possibility to unify all fundamental forces within an ultraviolet complete quantum language. However, after about 30 years of its "first revolution", it has failed to produce any testable predictions. String phenomenology is the name of the subject that struggles to bring string theory to describe phenomena that occur at experimentally/observationally accessible energies by finding stringy venues leading to some particle physics and cosmological descriptions. In this talk, we study one of the mechanisms that has proved to be very useful in string theory to produce particle models endowed with supersymmetry or without it, which resemble the paradigm of particle physics or its extensions. We explore the qualities of the stringy models and discuss the challenges to face in this scope.
