La meta de los estudios experimentales que se llevan a cabo en el grupo de FAMO es entender la dinámica de la interacción entre varias partículas cargadas, neutras o con láser. En particular la interacción entre iones/electrones/fotones con átomos y moléculas, donde se llevan a cabo una gran variedad de fenómenos de colisión, incluyendo transferencia de carga, excitación, ionización y disociación. También se estudian los procesos básicos que ocurren en los plasmas de baja temperatura, en particular, la ionización conducente a la formación de iones positivos y negativos, ionización por metaestables, transporte iónico y electrónico, reacciones ión-molécula, transporte iónico a energías subtérmicas, despojo electrónico de iones negativos, espectroscopia optogalvánica y de masas por movilidad iónica, estudio del efecto magneto óptico en gases y espectroscopia de descargas luminiscentes.

2. Espectroscopia de descargas luminiscentes.
3. Plasmas de baja temperatura.
4. Estudio de efectos magneto ópticos en gases y espectroscopia optogalvánica de plasmas.
5. Procesos de interacción de átomos o moléculas con láseres.
6. Procesos de colisiones de iones simple y múltiplemente cargados o de electrones con átomos o moléculas.
7. Interacción ión-fotón.
8. Nitruración de materiales por plasmas.
9. Vibraciones elásticas.
